1,095 days together!

Can you believe it? It seems like 10 years but to my surprise Woody and I are only celebrating our 3-year anniversary tomorrow! As most people know this is HUGE for us! Things have been going very well and our new home is becoming the biggest project of our lives thus far! It seems like there is so much that can be done and it's impossible to figure out where to start. We are having a lot of fun doing it together though! Woody has planned a surprise for this weekend and I'm very excited that we will be spending time together alone... I'm not sure what we are doing and that makes me a little nervous but I have faith that Woody has planned something fun and I know I will love whatever it might be!

On another note... we have like zero followers. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong? Kerri is our only follower. Seems sad. Come on people... be our friend!! :)

Religion-Church-God... Is there a difference?

This is a question that I have thought about for a long time. Can you believe in God and not go to church? Can you be religious and not believe in God? Can you go to church and not be religious? I don't really know the answer to these questions but what I do know is that Woody and I have decided to start attending church together to see what it's all about. We went for the first time together to First Unied Methodist Church in downtown Austin. I really like this church because it is traditional but contemporary at the same time. It doesn't seem like a place where people would feel the need to be fake and I like that. I grew up in church and the thing that has turned me off the most is the members of the church who judge and live lies. I like FUMC because it is a church that welcomes everyone and doesn't judge you based on your life experiences or past decisions. The doors seems to be wide open for you to come in and learn to love God.
Woody on the other hand did not grow up in church and doesn't have the preconceived feelings toward the church. It is interesting to watch him soak in all that he can during a sermon while trying to just figure out all the standing and sitting and singing! He is truly very innocent and naive in the Church world and I think watching him grow in the Lord will truly be a blessing. The unfortunate thing about church is that because of Woody's schedule with RRPD, he has to work every other Sunday and can't go with me. I am hoping that I stay strong and attend every Sunday so that I can teach him what I learn from our Pastor.

Until next time...

Furry and Four-Legged

The First Post... (always important!)

So my New Year's Resolution was to be more spirtual, get in touch with myself, and start writing things down. I have never blogged in my life but I figure its a good start to journaling and getting things out. I created this blog for Woody and I both but let's be honest... mainly you will be hearing from me! Consider it a treat if Woody takes the time to sit down and type out a blog!
So... I guess I'll start with some basic background info... We are Jori and Woody, we're both 26 years old and we recently bought our first home together. We have two of the best children in the world, they have fur and four legs and always keep us on our toes. Mabel is a 2 year old Weimaraner who weighs in at about 65 pounds and Lager is a 1 year old weimaraner who tips the scales at 80 lbs! We don't have 2-legged children yet but these two are plenty for the time being and you will see A LOT of posts about them I'm sure! I work for the March of Dimes and absolutely LOVE my job. I am a fundraiser and event coordinator and I work on 2- million dollar events during the year. I get to come to work everyday and save babies and it's the most rewarding career I have had. Woody is going into his fourth year with the Round Rock Police Department where he is a patrol officer and on the SWAT team. We enjoy working out together and spending time at our new home. Once the weather gets a little warmer you will definitely find us at the nearest camping spots in Central Texas. We love the lakes, hiking and sitting out at night by the campfire! More blogs to come with more pictures but this is a fair start and I'll keep you updated on the CRAZY experiences we go through!
